Christ’s Love for the Church Sometimes following God is easy, but not the case of Hosea and Gomer in their not-so-fairytale romance, we see that following God’s plan for our life works out in the end. The story of Hosea and Gomer was beautiful and lovely but also quirky. This story is located in the book of Hosea in the Old Testament of the Bible. If your spouse were to cheat on you with multiple partners would you stay with them? Most people would say no and that they would leave, but is this the case with Hosea and Gomer? â€Å"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.† (John 3:16 NIV). Some consider John 3:16 as the theme verse for the entire Bible. (What Does John 3:16 Mean? 1). This tells us that God loves us unconditionally and knows that we sin, but he still loves us. HOSEA AND GOMER Hosea is responsible and successful. In this book, Hosea was an obedient and faithful prophet of God, and he was responsible and followed all of the orders that were presented to him. With every order given to him, he did not fail. Gomer is irresponsible and unclean. Gomer was a woman that was very unclean and irresponsible. She was with many men and was not looking for love.
